Cyril Schaer is a senior tax and business lawyer with more than 25 years of experience advising entrepreneurs, HNW/UHNW families and family offices in Switzerland and in cross-border contexts.
He advises on wealth and succession planning, governance and ownership structuring, and international wealth structuring solutions including trusts, foundations and holding structures. He also assists entrepreneurs before and after liquidity events, helping structure and preserve wealth following corporate transactions.
His background spans private client tax advisory as well as M&A and corporate advisory, giving him a broad perspective on the needs of entrepreneurs and internationally active families. He benefits from an extensive professional network across legal, tax, banking and advisory communities. He serves on the board of APIA Swiss as an independent professional director for Swiss SMEs and co-initiated the Swiss M&A Experts Chamber to promote professional standards and best practices in M&A across the banking, legal and advisory communities in Suisse romande, where he served as Secretary from 2019 to 2022.
